When Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Kazakhstan and Indonesia, he successively proposed major initiatives to jointly build the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road". The initiative to jointly build the "Belt and Road" originated from China and belongs to the world; rooted in history and is more oriented towards the future. The joint construction of the "Belt and Road" is a public product jointly created by all parties and is widely popular around the world. It spans different regions, different development stages, and different civilizations, takes root and bears fruit everywhere, interpreting the prosperous scene of joint cooperation and showing the powerful force of building a community with a shared future for mankind. More and more voices tell stories about the dreams of many countries that have come true for thousands of years, tell stories about the changing fate of many ordinary people, and tell stories about many Chinese builders who have made no regrets in foreign countries... These stories are more vivid because of the real characters, and more moving because of the real emotions.

In actual work, we have the honor to have come into contact with a large number of such stories, and have seen the huge changes brought about by the implementation of the cooperative project, heard the sincere praise of ordinary people with our own ears, and felt the vitality of jointly building the "Belt and Road" and were deeply moved by it. We feel it is necessary to record, tell and spread these stories, and share the voice of development and the joy of fulfilling dreams with more people.

To this end, we organized Chinese and foreign experts to carefully compile the "Common Dream - "Belt and Road" Story Series". We look forward to the publication of the series, so that more people can understand the great significance of promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, understand that the dream of the Chinese people is closely connected with the dreams of people of all countries in the world, and understand that the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" is an important practical platform for promoting the joint construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
