On the afternoon of March 12, on the special line of China Petroleum and Yunnan Petrochemical Railway in Kunming City, two tank containers were injected with nearly 50 tons of diesel, and they were erected on the freight train and embarked on a journey to Ning'er Station of the China-Laos Railway, marking the official launch of the China-Laos Railway refined oil shipment test.
As a landmark project of the "Belt and Road", the China-Laos Railway has continued to release the effectiveness of the golden channel since its opening in December 2021. This innovative experiment jointly conducted by China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd. and China Petroleum and Yunnan Petroleum and Chemical Corporation adopts the internationally accepted tank container transportation model. This "one box to the end" transportation method not only reduces the inverted assembly of traditional railway oil tankers, greatly reduces safety risks, but also achieves seamless connection between railways and highways, providing great convenience for multimodal transport, and is currently the preferred solution for transporting dangerous goods.
As a type of transportation of dangerous goods, the safety of refined oil is crucial. Therefore, before the transportation is officially started, the full process test of the transportation equipment and transportation links must be carried out, and batch transportation can only be carried out after being strictly reviewed and certified by professional departments to ensure that safety conditions and relevant qualifications are met.
A relevant person in charge of the freight department of Kunming Bureau of the National Railway introduced that after the successful completion of this refined oil transportation test, the China-Laos Railway will expand its scope and conduct full-line tests, and ultimately realize the large-scale refined oil transportation of the China-Laos Railway, better serve and integrate high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and benefit the people along the route.
