People's Daily Kuala Lumpur, April 18 (Reporters Dai Kairan and Chu Jun) On the 17th, the 2025 "Looking forward to the Future" Kuala Lumpur Dialogue, co-organized by the Institute of Contemporary China and the World, the Malaysian Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy, and hosted by Honghui Think Tank, Malaysia-China Aid Association, and Malaysian Credit Home, was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. At the event, scholars from China-Malaysia think tanks discussed in depth on the theme of "Printing a new chapter in China-Malaysia economic cooperation". More than 100 people from all walks of life from China and Malaysia attended the dialogue.

Yu Yunquan, deputy director of the China Foreign Languages ​​Bureau and director of the Institute of Contemporary China and World, said that the leaders of China and Malaysia reached important consensus on building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future, and provided key guidance for this dialogue. As a leader in ideas, shaping public opinion and promoting exchanges, think tanks can unite their efforts for China-Malaysia and China-ASEAN cooperation by studying effective paths for the docking of China-Malaysia development strategies, guiding the public of the two countries to correctly understand each other's countries, and building a multilateral dialogue platform.

Yang Yanmei, director of the Malaysian Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy, said that in the face of the rise of protectionism and unilateralism, all countries should uphold the concept of mutual respect and promote diversified development. China is an important partner of Malaysia and ASEAN. The two sides continue to tap into the cooperation potential in the fields of digitalization, green economy and connectivity, which will help maintain regional stability and development and prosperity.

Wei Jiaxiang, president of the Malaysian Chinese Association and former Minister of Transportation of Malaysia, said that as the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative gradually connects with the Malaysian national development plan, we believe that the two sides will continue to work together and become an important fulcrum for regional peace and progress.
