Recalling the decision made 10 years ago, Chen Zhongbei, chairman of Uzbekistan Fujian Wanda Group, said bluntly: "This step is the right one."

In 2015, Chen Zhongbei, a native of Changle, Fuzhou, decided to invest in the steel industry in Sirhe Prefecture, Uzbekistan because of a match made by friends. After ten years of hard work, Wanda Group has now become a leading local enterprise, leading thousands of people to find jobs.

Ten years ago, there were less than 10 people in Fujian in Ukraine. Today, more than 2,000 Fujian villagers are working hard in Ukraine. As the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" is deepening and practical, the "Global South" including Central Asia is becoming a new choice for Fujian enterprises to "go overseas".

Last month, Fujian Province held the China (Fujian)-Uzbekistan Economic and Trade Exchange Conference, the "Fresh Fujian" Cultural and Tourism Promotion Conference and the Fujian-Samarkand Economic and Trade Exchange Conference in Ukraine, attracting more than 200 companies to participate, and facilitated 23 cooperation projects with a total amount of 5.5 billion yuan. Many Fujian companies who went to Ukraine to negotiate said: "I don't know if I don't come. I only found out that the local area has a stable social environment and strong economic development needs, which is a 'blue ocean'."

Go out and the world is wide. In history, Fujian people who love to win and work hard and bravely traveled across the ocean and started their own businesses, and wrote magnificent chapters wherever the sea reaches. Today in Fujian, the tide of open economy is surging. Under the current international trade situation, we should maintain the spirit of winning, enhance our confidence in going global, vigorously explore emerging markets, and respond to the uncertainty of the external environment with the certainty of our own development.

Confidence comes from Fujian's solid manufacturing foundation. As a major manufacturing province, Fujian has 38 of the 41 major industrial industries. It is precisely because of the advantages of Fujian's footwear and clothing industry that Wei Xiang, who is from Fujian, founded the WINK Group in Hungary more than 30 years ago. At its peak, one in every six people wore WINK sneakers. Wick also joined hands with Xiamen company Yingqu Technology to build an industrial park in Hungary and expand cooperation in the field of intelligent manufacturing. At present, new quality productivity drives China's manufacturing industry upgrade and provides new opportunities for international cooperation. In emerging fields such as clean energy, artificial intelligence, and digital economy, Fujian enterprises have broad stage and great potential.

Confidence comes from the powerful force of the "Global South". Under the great changes in the world over a century, the global south, as an important pole of the world's politics, economy and culture, has an increasingly important impact. Some experts pointed out that there are currently two core development demands in southern countries around the world. One is to accelerate the promotion of industrialization and modernization, and the other is to seize the opportunities of the new round of industrial revolution and use new technologies to achieve rapid development. Taking the Sir River Prefecture where Wanda Group is located as an example, Governor Turjimov discussed and reached a consensus with the visiting Fujian delegation in the fields of industrial park investment, food processing, infrastructure construction, etc. Economic globalization is an unstoppable historical trend. "If you don't go overseas, you will be eliminated." Enterprises should adapt pressure to drive, target market demand, boldly explore emerging markets such as Central and Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa, and open up a new world for high-quality development.
