In the 1990s, when Rafanama, the governor of the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, visited Fujian, he developed a strong interest in China's fungi grass technology. Subsequently, Lin Zhanying, the inventor of mushroom grass technology, went to this South Pacific island country and started the "Mushwa Foreign Aid" project in the local tribe. Today, this plant, known as the "happy grass", has taken root in more than 100 countries around the world, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, and becoming a successful case of scientific and technological poverty reduction and open cooperation.

In 1904, New Zealander Isabel Fraser brought back kiwi seeds from China. She may not have thought that this fruit would return to China as a kiwi fruit more than a hundred years later and promote deeper scientific and technological cooperation. The China-New Zealand Kiwi "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory for Kiwi Fruit in Sichuan has become the world's largest red meat kiwi germplasm resource library, attracting scientific researchers from Egypt, Pakistan and other countries to overcome technical problems and spread sweetness to all parts of the world.

Since the launch of the "Belt and Road" Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan in 2017, my country has built a "1 4 N" framework system. Among them, "1" refers to the mechanism-based holding of the "Belt and Road" science and technology exchange conference, and at the same time implementing four major measures, including scientific and technological cultural exchanges, joint laboratories, science and technology park cooperation and technology transfer, as well as several special cooperation plans. The second "Belt and Road" Science and Technology Exchange Conference was held in Chengdu from June 10 to 12, and the first conference was held in Chongqing in November 2023.

As the hinterland of the southwest, Chengdu-Chongqing region has rich natural resources and unique geographical advantages. With the support of scientific and technological forces, transportation facilities such as aircraft and high-speed rail have reshaped the regional transportation pattern. On Haizi Mountain, a height of 4,410 meters above sea level in Daocheng, Ganzi, Sichuan, a high-altitude cosmic ray observatory called "Lacau" captures information from the depths of the universe. Last year, it announced that it had certified a super cosmic ray source for the first time, accelerating the understanding of the unsolved mysteries of the international physics community. In addition, 2,400 meters underground in Jinping Mountain, Liangshan, Sichuan, China's Jinping Underground Laboratory is committed to the research of dark matter, attracting the attention of scientists around the world.
