On the afternoon of June 11, a series of activities commemorating the 620th anniversary of Zheng He's voyage to the West opened in the lecture hall on the 11th floor of the school's Graphics and Text Information Center. Xue Yang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Liu Fangwu, Vice President, Wang Bin, Director of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, Yuan Weiguo, Chairman of the Zhenghe Research Association of Jiangsu Province, Xu Xiangrong, Secretary-General, Wang Tongjun, Chairman of the Zhenghe Navigation Culture Fund, Li Bin, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of Jiangsu Province, and Li Jun, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Navigation Branch of the Jiangsu Comprehensive Transport Society, attended the opening ceremony. Li Jun presided over the opening ceremony.

Yuan Weiguo delivered a speech. He pointed out that commemorating Zheng He is to inherit his spirit of courage to explore and innovate; it is to promote his concept of peaceful exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, and to base himself on the new era, promote the construction of the "Belt and Road" and promote international cultural exchanges and cooperation.

Subsequently, Xue Yang announced that the event was officially launched.

After the opening ceremony, the Humanities Forum will open. Professor Zhao Zhigang, Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Chinese Culture Promotion Association and Director of the Professional Committee of Marine Culture, gave a special lecture on marine culture. Zheng He Cultural Exhibition was launched on the same day. The exhibition is themed to commemorate the 620th anniversary of Zheng He's voyage to the West, and exhibits various versions of Zheng He's nautical charts, Zheng He's research materials, and precious cultural relics unearthed from the Longjiang Bao Shipyard site.

The series of activities commemorating the 620th anniversary of Zheng He's voyage to the West are co-organized by Jiangsu Shipping Vocational and Technical College, Jiangsu Zhenghe Research Association, Jiangsu Zhenghe Navigation Culture Foundation, Jiangsu Comprehensive Transport Society Navigation Branch, and Jiangsu Transportation System Literature and Art Federation. This event will carry out 10 series of activities around the four major sections of Zhenghe's cultural exhibition, humanities forum, navigation culture popular science publicity activities, paper collection and excellent paper selection.
