On June 11, the Second Belt and Road Science and Technology Exchange Conference "Belt and Road" Youth Scientific and Technological Exchange Conference was held in Chengdu, Sichuan. The forum is themed "Focus on sustainable development and work together to meet global challenges". It brings together more than 100 young scientists and scholars from countries jointly built by the "Belt and Road" to jointly discuss cooperation in scientific and technological innovation and contribute wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road".

The forum is co-organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and the People's Government of Chongqing Municipality, and hosted by the Secretariat of the "Belt and Road" International Scientific Organizations Alliance (ANSO), the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Office of the Talent Work Leading Group of the Communist Party of China, the Institute of Aerospace Information Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Wuhan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chengdu Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chengdu Institute of Mountain Disasters and Environment of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Chengdu Institute of Biology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Sichuan Talent Development Group, and the Chengdu Talent Development Group. Introduction to "Land Cover Map Album of Five Central Asian Countries"

As a result released, the Wuhan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the 4th volume of the Kenyan Botanical Chronicle (Orchidaceae). The book was compiled and researched by more than 180 scientific researchers from more than 20 scientific research institutions in China and Kenya. Volume 4 (Orchidaceae) was published in June this year, recording more than 300 Kenya orchidaceae plants, which is an important milestone in China-Korean scientific research cooperation. The Institute of Xinjiang Breeding Areas of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the "Land Cover Map of Five Central Asian Countries". The map is divided into 8 themes and shows the changes in land cover of the five Central Asian countries since 1990. It is of great significance to the protection, planning and sustainable development of relevant countries in the "Belt and Road" co-construction.

Ethiopian Agricultural Research Institute gives a special report

During the special report, experts and scholars such as Wan Tao from the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Jon from the Institute of Water Issues, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, shared their research results on the regional national crop geographic monitoring and evaluation, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development of Africa, Central Asia agricultural drought monitoring and evaluation and mitigation plan, and contributed youth wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" in terms of biodiversity conservation, modern agricultural development, etc.

Roundtable discussion

During the roundtable discussion session, experts, scholars, international students from many countries such as China, Pakistan, Egypt, Myanmar, Nepal, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Rwanda, etc. had in-depth exchanges on issues such as scientific and technological cooperation to promote the shared security and sustainable development of the "Belt and Road" and academic growth and cultural exchanges in cross-cultural contexts. Dider, a Rwandan student, said: "This forum has benefited me a lot, strengthened my academic research direction, and hopes to contribute to China-Africa cooperation in the future."

"From agricultural science and technology to ecological and environmental protection, from poverty reduction cooperation to artificial intelligence, China and the Belt and Road Initiative have more and more exchanges and more extensive cooperation areas, vividly interpreting the theme of the conference's "The Road to Co-construction and Innovation Promotes Cooperation and Development."
