On June 17 local time, President Xi Jinping and the five heads of state of Central Asia jointly signed a permanent treaty of good-neighborliness and friendly cooperation, fixing the principle of generational friendship in the form of law.

President Xi commented: "This is a new milestone in the history of the six-country relations, and it is also a pioneering move for China's neighboring diplomacy. It will benefit the present and the future."

At the first China-Central Asia Summit, President Xi proposed the "four persistences" on how to build a China-Central Asia Community of Shared Future, one of which is to uphold generational friendship. Looking forward to the future, how can we guide the "China-Central Asia Spirit" and forge ahead to the goal of a community with a shared future?

President Xi Jinping put forward five suggestions at the Second China-Central Asia Summit. The first point is to "adhere to the original intention of unity of mutual trust and mutual support" - "China has always regarded Central Asia as a priority direction for neighboring diplomacy, adhere to the concept of good neighborhood, safe neighbors, wealth, friendly, and inclusive, and have equal exchanges with Central Asian countries and treat each other sincerely, and always look forward to the good and good neighbors."

President Xi Jinping once pointed out at the video summit for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the five Central Asian countries that China and the five Central Asian countries "deepening political mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation, embarking on a new path of good neighborly friendship and win-win cooperation, and becoming a model for building a new type of international relations."

China's exchanges and cooperation with Central Asian countries are based on sincerity and mutual trust and equality and mutual benefit.

In 2020, China advocated the establishment of the China-Central Asia mechanism. In January 2022, the five heads of state in Central Asia proposed to upgrade the China-Central Asia mechanism to the head of state. In May 2023, at the first China-Central Asia Summit, President Xi Jinping and the five heads of state jointly decided to build a closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future and formally established a mechanism for the China-Central Asia Heads of State meeting.

At the Second China-Central Asia Summit, President Xi Jinping affirmed: "In the past two years, the China-Central Asia Mechanism has established 13 ministerial cooperation platforms, the Secretariat has been fully operational, and the four pillars and eight pillars have basically taken shape."

On May 20, the first Central Asia train from Tianjin Port to Tashkent through Horgos in 2025 will depart from Tianjin Port Wujie Sanduiyuan.

China-Central Asia cooperation has demonstrated foresight and responsibility from the beginning. The cooperation concepts and mechanism arrangements that China adheres to with Central Asian countries are the path forward that the world should choose at the crossroads of history today.

In China-Central Asia cooperation since the new era, a main line runs through the whole process: high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road".

"In 2013, I visited Central Asia for the first time after serving as President of China and proposed the initiative to jointly build the 'Silk Road Economic Belt'." President Xi Jinping recalled at the first China-Central Asia Summit.

Over the years, the five Central Asian countries have signed cooperation documents with China to jointly build the "Belt and Road". One by one, "national landmarks" and "people's livelihood projects" have emerged, and new opportunities for the ancient Silk Road are revitalized. Since the first China-Central Asia Summit was held, China and Central Asian countries have been deeply and practical in building the "Belt and Road" together, with trade volume increasing by 35%, and cooperation in industrial investment, green minerals, scientific and technological innovation has been actively promoted.

The summit also announced the signing of 12 cooperation documents in the fields of joint construction of the "Belt and Road", facilitation of personnel exchanges, green minerals, smooth trade, connectivity, industry, customs and other fields.

Modernization is the common dream of China and Central Asian countries. At present, China is comprehensively promoting the great cause of building a strong country and national rejuvenation with Chinese modernization. The five Central Asian countries will also write their expectations for modernization into their development strategies.
