Phnom Penh, April 17 (Reporters Du Shangze and Zhang Niansheng) On the afternoon of April 17, Cambodian King Sihamoni held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Palace of Phnom Penh.

When Xi Jinping arrived by car, Sihamoni warmly greeted him at the get off. The guards were arranged on both sides of the red carpet.

Xi Jinping pointed out that he is very happy to be invited to visit the beautiful Cambodia on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of King Sihamoni's ascension to the throne and the Cambodian New Year. He would like to extend his New Year greetings to the Cambodian people. Cambodia's national construction undertaking is booming. I believe that under the protection of King Sihamoni, the hardworking and wise Cambodian people will surely build the country more prosperous and strong.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China-Cambodia friendship spans a thousand years, and the people of the two countries have always gone to two directions and achieved mutual success. No matter how the international situation changes, China and Cambodia have adhered to their trustworthiness and support each other, and have always firmly supported each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns, setting an example of equality, sincere mutual trust, and mutual benefit and win-win situations between countries of all sizes. China and Cambodia have always been at the forefront of building a community with a shared future for mankind, bringing tangible benefits to the Cambodian people.

Xi Jinping stressed that China cherishes the friendship with the Cambodian royal family and highly appreciates the important contributions made by the Cambodian royal family to the cause of friendship between China and Cambodia over the years. Under the new circumstances, China and Cambodia should cherish and inherit the China-Cambodia iron-core friendship jointly created by the older generation of Chinese leaders and Sihanouk Taihuang, give China and Cambodia a new era connotation, serve the development of their respective countries and the welfare of the people, and make greater contributions to building a neighboring community with a shared future and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. China firmly supports Cambodia to maintain stability, accelerate development, improve people's livelihood, and take a development path that conforms to its national conditions. It believes that Chinese-style modernization will bring more opportunities to neighboring countries such as Cambodia, and believes that building an all-weather community of shared future in the new era will definitely write a magnificent chapter.

On behalf of the Cambodian royal family, the Senate, the government and all people, Sihamoni warmly welcomed President Xi Jinping’s visit. Sihamoni said that Cambodia-China friendship was personally created and cultivated by the older generation of leaders of the two countries. With the joint efforts of both sides, cooperation in various fields has become increasingly close, and the construction of a community with a shared future has been deepening. It can be said that there are progress every month and results every year. Cambodia firmly abides by the one-China principle, highly appreciates the three global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and thanks the cooperation in jointly building the "Belt and Road" for bringing huge development opportunities to Cambodia. President Xi Jinping's visit is a historic visit, which will deepen the iron-core friendship between the two countries, enrich the "Diamond Six-Side" cooperation structure, and promote Cambodia-China relations to a new level. Cambodia is also willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in multilateral mechanisms such as ASEAN-China cooperation and Lancang-Mekong cooperation, and jointly promote regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Sihamoni awarded Xi Jinping the "Kingle-Level Medal of National Independence of the Kingdom of Cambodia".

Sihamoni said that President Xi Jinping has a special friendly relationship with Cambodia, has made outstanding contributions to promoting the development of Cambodia-China relations, and is a great friend of Cambodia. I believe that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China will achieve greater development achievements and play a more important role in international and regional affairs.

Xi Jinping said that this medal fully reflects Cambodia's high attention to developing China-Cambodia relations and carries the deep friendship between the Cambodian people for the Chinese people. This honor belongs not only to me, but also to all the friendly people who have made contributions to the friendship between China and Cambodia.

That night, Sihamoni held a welcome banquet for Xi Jinping.
