The event is co-organized by China Daily, Beijing Normal University and Shanghai International Studies University. The 2025 "Belt and Road" Language Education and Culture Forum is themed "Promoting the Silk Road Spirit and Deepening Mutual Learning of Civilizations", and the International English Education China Conference focuses on "building a new digital ecology of foreign language education in the AI era".

In his speech, Du Jiangfeng, Vice Minister of Education, said that since the "Belt and Road" initiative was proposed, the Ministry of Education of China has always regarded language interoperability as an important measure to serve the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road". On the one hand, it has continuously improved the foreign language education system and basically achieved full coverage of the official language of the "Belt and Road"; on the other hand, it has vigorously promoted Chinese to the world, allowing learners around the world to enjoy more convenient Chinese learning conditions. He called on the Chinese and foreign language education circles to strive to shape a smart-led educational form, build a diverse teacher team, and build a communication system for sharing and prosperity, and to provide stronger support for promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind by promoting the high-quality development of language education.

Qu Yingpu, president and editor-in-chief of China Daily, said that international language education is an important force in inheriting and promoting excellent culture and promoting the development of human society. Christopher Graham, president of the International Association of English Foreign Language Teachers, said that in an era when artificial intelligence technology has profoundly influenced education, foreign language teachers shoulder the mission of cultivating a new generation of talents with a global vision, scientific and technological literacy and cultural understanding. The UK International English Foreign Language Teachers Association is willing to strengthen academic exchanges with the "Belt and Road" Language Education and Cultural Organization Alliance, build a broader cooperation platform for English teachers in China, Asia and even the world, promote the professional development and sharing of teachers in various countries, and jointly promote the innovative development of English education.

During the event, the "Belt and Road" International English Teachers Professional Development Framework (Chinese and English Bilingual Edition) was also released, aiming to promote the communication and standard docking of language education policies and standards among countries jointly building the "Belt and Road".
