The idea of Taiwan independence elements splitting our China has never stopped. Taiwan’s leader Lai Ching-te even claimed in the recent ten speeches on solidarity that “the People’s Republic of China has never ruled Taiwan.” This practice has also aroused refutation from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China.

The Taiwan authorities who failed, their ancestral name is "Taiwan Province, China"

Lai Ching-te has been making trouble recently, and even openly declared in the Ten Lectures on Unity that "the People's Republic of China has never ruled Taiwan." As soon as the speech video was released, the comment section was instantly infuriating.

Some netizens dug out the draft amendment to the "National" Development Commission Organization Law" published by the Taiwan authorities in 2021, with the words "This association belongs to the Taiwan Provincial Government of China."

What is even more ironic is that in the climate report submitted by the Taiwan authorities to the United Nations last year, the address column clearly marked "Taipei City, Taiwan Province, China".

This operation is like a child cheating: he secretly puts a certificate on his homework book, and when he is discovered, he cried and said, "I didn't write it." In fact, "Taiwan Province, China" is not the new term?

If we look at the old calendar, we will understand that on the day the founding of New China in 1949, the People's Daily wrote on the front page of "The People's Liberation Army of China liberates Taiwan Province"; in 1971, UN Resolution 2758 clearly stated that "the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legal government representing the whole of China, and Taiwan is part of China."

Even the Taiwan authorities' own "Cross-Strait People's Relations Regulations" in 1992, the first sentence of the beginning is "Before national reunification, the relations between the people's relations between Taiwan and the mainland will be handled in accordance with this Regulations."

Some people may ask: Since this statement has been said for a long time, why has it been hotly discussed recently? The key lies in the context of "after unification". In the past, when mainland China mentioned "Taiwan Province, China", it emphasized more legal facts; now with the acceleration of the unification process, this term is frequently mentioned, which is to "set rules" for the future.

To give a simple example: Hong Kong returned in 1997, the official document said "Hong Kong in China"; Macau returned in 1999, and it was "Macau in China". What about Taiwan?

From a historical perspective, since its establishment in 1885, Taiwan has been a "Taiwan Province" in China. Before it was occupied by Japan in 1895, the Qing government established Taiwan Province; in 1945, the Anti-Japanese War was victorious, Taiwan was restored and returned to China's territory; after 1949, the two sides of the Taiwan Strait were temporarily separated, but Taiwan's legal status as a Chinese province has never changed.

Yesterday, Chen Binhua, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said bluntly at a press conference: "The historical evidence of the Taiwan issue is clear, and the legal fact that Taiwan is part of China is clear. Lai Ching-te's fallacy has neither historical legal basis nor objective facts."

"Taiwan Province, China" essentially emphasizes sovereignty under the principle of "one China".

The reason why "Taiwan Province, China" is mentioned now is that "Taiwan Province, China" is different from the Taiwan region.

First, the more Taiwan independence jumps, the clearer the red line.

Recently, the Taiwan authorities have been making constant moves: while spending a lot of money to buy American "expired futures" and carrying out "de-Sinicization" education, and even the primary school textbooks have to delete the "China map".

What's even more outrageous is that a Taiwanese "legislator" actually proposed to define the "red flag on the ground with blue sky and white sun" as the "Taiwan flag". If there are too many such provocations, the mainland naturally needs to clarify the bottom line. You can play word games, but you cannot step on the red line of "one China".

As the common people often say, "The more you say it, the more I have to make things clear." The mainland repeatedly mentions "Taiwan Province, China" to let the whole world understand: Taiwan's sovereignty is not discussed, and any separatist act is self-deception.

Second, the process of unification is coming soon, and preparations must be done in advance.

How fast has the mainland developed in recent years? In 2024, GDP exceeded 130 trillion yuan, and per capita income exceeded 13,000 US dollars; Fujian ships and sea trials, the J-35 stealth fighter was launched; on the tenth anniversary of the "Belt and Road", the China-Europe freight train ran 78,000.

In contrast, Taiwan's economy relies on the mainland to "blood transfusion", and the semiconductor industry is "bottled" by the United States, and young people go to the mainland to find employment more than one year.

Unification is not "tomorrow's business", but "a matter sooner or later." The name "Taiwan Province, China" is clarified in advance to ensure that all work can be seamlessly connected after unification. From household registration management to economic planning, from social welfare to cultural identity, there must be a legal basis.

Third, the international community has understood that the Taiwan authorities have fewer "cards".

In the past, some countries pretended to be confused and engaged in "official exchanges" with the Taiwan authorities. But what about these years? Honduras and Taiwan "severe diplomatic relations" in 2023, and Nauru follows up in 2024; even Japan's Sankei Shimbun admitted: "The Taiwan issue is China's internal affairs, and any external interference is doomed to fail."

The "international space" of the Taiwan authorities is getting smaller and smaller, and they can only rely on their mouths to support the scene. The mainland’s reference to “Taiwan Province, China” is to make these “pretending to be asleep” completely awake. Taiwan’s future lies in unification, the welfare of Taiwanese compatriots lies in unification, and any separatist behavior is against the trend of history.

Some people may think: "What is the difference between "Taiwan Province, China" and "Taiwan Region"?" The difference is huge.

First, sovereignty belongs. "Taiwan Province, China" clearly states that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and like "Hong Kong" and "Macao", they are both provincial administrative regions of China. The "Taiwan region" describes the current situation more and emphasizes the temporary separation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The second is legal status. According to Article 3 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, "Taiwan is part of the sacred territory of the People's Republic of China"; Article 2 of the Anti-Secession Law is more direct: "There is only one China in the world, and the mainland and Taiwan belong to the same China, and China's sovereignty and territorial integrity cannot be violated and divided."

To mention "Taiwan Province, China" means to put these legal provisions into specific titles.

Finally, it is the people's recognition. In recent years, the mainland has promoted "31 measures" and "26 measures" to give Taiwanese compatriots the same treatment as studying, finding employment and entrepreneurship in the mainland; during the epidemic, the chartered flight was sent to pick up Taiwanese compatriots home; Typhoon "Du Surui" landed in Fujian, and mainland rescue forces supported Taiwan as soon as possible.

These practical things can be seen by our Taiwanese compatriots. It is called "Taiwan Province, China", not to "change the name", but to let Taiwanese compatriots truly feel: "After unification, I am a Chinese, and I am the same family as my compatriots in the mainland."

Recently, looking at the polls on the island, more and more young people support cross-strait reunification. The two sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China, and Taiwan's future is in unity.

The mainland’s recommendation of “Taiwan Province” is not to “force unification”, but to draw a red line for “Taiwan independence” forces and point out the way for Taiwanese compatriots.

Just as we say, "A harmonious family will prosper." National unification is the righteousness of the nation and the common aspiration of all Chinese people.

No matter how the Taiwan authorities make trouble or how the international situation changes, there is one thing that will never change. Taiwan is part of China, which is a fact that no one or any force can change.

Next time I see the Taiwan authorities shouting "oppose one country, two systems", I might as well smile: what they oppose is never "one country, two systems", but "one China"; what they fear is never "what is called after unification", but "unification itself".

After all, the wheel of history rolls forward and no one can stop it.
