In the first half of 2025, Xi'an's GDP reached 635.816 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%; the total import and export value reached 230 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%.

Wang Kai, deputy director of the Xi'an Development and Reform Commission, said that in the second half of the year, Xi'an will continue to coordinate the task of "deepening six reforms", build a China-Europe Express economic circle, accelerate the construction of the "Air Silk Road", and continue to promote logistics costs and increase efficiency, injecting new impetus into the high-quality development of an open economy.

It is understood that as an important engine to promote the development of Xi'an's open economy, 3,055 trains were launched in the first half of the year, an increase of 28.8% year-on-year, and the total weight of goods transported was 3.45 million tons, an increase of 34.8% year-on-year. Core indicators such as operation volume, freight volume, and heavy container rate remained ahead in the country. Ma Jun, general dispatcher of China Railway Xi'an Bureau Group Co., Ltd., said that the second half of the year will usher in a historical node with a total of 30,000 trains of China-Europe Express (Xi'an). The Xi'an Bureau of China Railway will accelerate the formation of a "channel hub network" train transportation pattern to better assist Xi'an's open economy.

According to Tang Tao, deputy general manager of Western Airport Group Co., Ltd., as of July 25 this year, Xi'an Airport protected 27.271 million passengers and 180,000 tons of cargo and mail, an increase of 3.9% and 16.1% year-on-year respectively. A total of 58 new international passenger routes have been opened and resumed, achieving full coverage of five Central Asian countries and eight cities, with obvious channel advantages. In the next step, Western Airport Group will accelerate the construction of Xi'an International Aviation Hub, optimize the layout of passenger and cargo aviation networks, help Xi'an deeply integrate into the overall pattern of jointly building the "Belt and Road" and achieve higher level of opening up to the outside world.

Regarding the issue of how to improve the service level of the Xi'an assembly center of the China-Europe Express, Wang Xiong, deputy director of the Xi'an Xi'an Xi'an International Port Management Committee, said that Xi'an Xi'an International Port will focus on six aspects: "smooth channels, improve functions, improve services, expand trade, gather industries, and promote exchanges", and strive to build a China-Europe Express economic circle, strengthen internal and external opening-up linkage, and enhance the market competitiveness of the China-Europe Express (Xi'an).
