On August 11 and 12, the "2025 Future Transportation Development (Kunming) Forum" with the theme of "Transportation Empowers Industry and Smart Drives the Future" was held in the Central Yunnan New District.

Mr. Kenton Sisuweng, former vice chairman of the Laos China-Laos Cooperation Committee, attended the opening ceremony. Su Bo, deputy director of the Economic Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Expert Committee, and Luo Junjie, executive vice president of the China Mechanical Industry Federation, gave a keynote speech. Yang Dongwei, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of the Central Yunnan New District, and Bangdang Basapadi, Consul General of the Lao Consulate General in Kunming, delivered speeches.

The forum focused on displaying five technical achievements, including "one-network unified flight smart patrol platform", "green and beautiful channel and traffic model", "plateau mountain highway operation intelligent vehicle-road collaborative intelligent induction and active prevention and control system". The signing of investment promotion projects in the third quarter of the Central Yunnan New District was held, with a contract amount of 3.5 billion yuan. Sign strategic cooperation agreements such as jointly building an intelligent connected vehicle city consortium and jointly building a Mohan-Moding multinational intelligent connected demonstration zone. The unveiling ceremony of the "Yunnan Province Intelligent Network Transportation International Joint Laboratory", "Sub-center of the National Engineering Research Center for Solid Waste Resources", and "Haiguangxing ASEAN·Yunnan Fresh Fruit Processing and Trading Center".

The forum also held three parallel forums with distinct themes: "Construction of the Ecology of Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry in Plateau Application Scenarios", "Development of Aerospace Intelligent Industry", "Grasp Trends, Talk about Capital, and Help the Future Industrial Development of Yunnan Central New District". Experts and scholars from Tongji University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and other institutions, the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Center, the Institute of Traffic Management Science of the Ministry of Public Security, the Shenzhen Drone Association and other institutions, as well as representatives of some industry-leading enterprises and investment and financing institutions, shared cutting-edge views, professional insights and industry experience in the future transportation field with the participants, and discussed how financial capital can empower the future development of the transportation industry.
