High-speed rail shortens not only the physical distance, but also the gap in development. The Chongqing-Xiaxi High-speed Railway has reduced the travel time between Chongqing and Changsha to 3 hours and 53 minutes, making the two major urban agglomerations of Chengdu-Chongqing and Changsha and Zhuzhou-Tanzhou more closely connected; the Zhengzhou Intercity Railway has been fully connected, allowing Kaifeng to deeply integrate into the Henan "Rice"-shaped high-speed railway network, injecting new vitality into the Zhengzhou metropolitan area. New lines and new stations such as Rizhao Station and Chongqing East Station allow small and medium-sized cities to directly connect with core hubs such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
