Travel time limit

Be careful from 7:00 to 20:00 on weekdays. There are no restrictions on Saturdays and Sundays and statutory holidays, so you can travel as much as you like. For example, office workers should pay special attention to the restricted time when driving to and from get off work from Monday to Friday. If they accidentally drive on the road during the restricted time, the 100 yuan fine and 1 point will be gone.

Traffic restricted area

The restricted traffic range is roads within the Fifth Ring Road (excluding the Fifth Ring Road). For example, if you live in the Fourth Ring Road and work in the Third Ring Road, then your car cannot drive on this section of the road during the restricted travel time, and you have to plan your travel method in advance.

Limited end number

The license plate number of the restricted motor vehicle (including temporary license plate) is grouped and rotated for restricted travel. The specific grouping situation is as follows:

From March 31, 2025 to June 29, 2025, the license plates of limited motor vehicles from Monday to Friday are: 1 and 6, 2 and 7, 3 and 8, 4 and 9, 5 and 0, respectively (the license plates of motor vehicles are managed as English letters with number 0);

From June 30, 2025 to September 28, 2025, the license plates of limited-traffic motor vehicles from Monday to Friday are: 5 and 0, 1 and 6, 2 and 7, 3 and 8, 4 and 9, respectively;

From September 29, 2025 to December 28, 2025, the license plates of limited-traffic motor vehicles from Monday to Friday are: 4 and 9, 5 and 0, 1 and 6, 2 and 7, 3 and 8, respectively;

From December 29, 2025 to March 29, 2026, the license plates of limited-traffic motor vehicles are: 3 and 8, 4 and 9, 5 and 0, 1 and 6, 2 and 7, respectively.

Everyone must remember the restricted travel date corresponding to the last number of their license plate and make travel arrangements in advance.

Traffic restrictions on foreign license plates in Beijing

Travel time limit

1. During weekdays, during peak hours, from 7:00 to 9:00, from 17:00 to 20:00, from 17:00 to 20:00, driving on roads within the Fifth Ring Road (inclusive) and some roads in Daxing District and Shunyi District; this time period is exactly the peak hours of commuting, so vehicles with license plates in other places should not squeeze into these restricted areas.

2. From 9:00 to 17:00 on working days, the regulations on the restriction of the last number must be followed, and the restriction of the last number is the same as that of the vehicle with a license plate in Beijing.

Traffic restricted area

1. For passenger car license plates for driving outside the Sixth Ring Road (excluding) in Beijing, as well as passenger car license plates for driving outside the entire Tongzhou District (excluding the main expressway road) and some areas of Changping, Huairou and Yanqing, you must apply for a Beijing entry permit.

2. The section between the main road of the Second Ring Road (full line), Chang'an Street and the extension line Xinxing Bridge (excluding) to Guomao Bridge (excluding), the east side of the square road, the west side of the square road, Beichizi Street, Nanchizi Street, Beiheyan Street, Nanheyan Street, Fuyou Street, Beichang Street, Nanchang Street, Renda Hall West Road, Zhengyi Road, Taijichang Street, Xi'anmen Street (the section between Xisi South Street and Fuyou Street), Wenjin Street, Jingshan Qian Street, Wusi Street (Beichizi Street to Donghuangchenggen North Street), Di'anmen Street, Jingshan Hou Street, Jingshan West Street, Jingshan East Street, Xishiku Street Xicha (Xishku Street to Xi'anmen Street). Passenger cars with license plates (including temporary license plates) from other provinces, regions and cities are prohibited from passing.

3. Motor vehicles with license plates (including temporary license plates) issued by other provinces, regions and municipalities are prohibited from passing through.

4. Roads within the Fifth Ring Road (inclusive) have restricted restrictions within the specified time.

Regulations on entry certificates

1. Each car will apply for a maximum of 12 passes per year, and the validity period of each pass is 7 days. Before the expiration of the validity period, the above range shall be out of the range.

2. Vehicles outside the country who have obtained a pass to Beijing must also strictly abide by the traffic restrictions.
