A reporter from The Paper asked on the spot: China and ASEAN have maintained a good momentum in recent years. What are the considerations of China's economic and trade cooperation in the next step?

Yan Dong introduced that as a firm defender of the international economic and trade order and a firm supporter of the multilateral trading system, China is willing to work with ASEAN to maintain the stability and smooth international economic and trade order and the global production and supply chain, and make greater contributions to promoting the development and revitalization of both sides and defending international fairness and justice.

He introduced the measures China will take to promote economic and trade cooperation from four aspects:

First, continue to deepen regional cooperation. China will continue to promote the construction and upgrading of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone, implement the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with high quality, and increase investment in sub-regional cooperation such as China-ASEAN Eastern Growth Zone and Lancang-Mekong, and continuously enhance the driving force for China-ASEAN mutually beneficial cooperation.

The second is to continue to expand the trade "cake". China is willing to expand the import of ASEAN characteristic and advantageous products such as tropical fruits, coffee, rubber, palm oil, etc. At the same time, it will deepen cross-border e-commerce cooperation with ASEAN countries, deepen and implement policy communication, industrial docking, local cooperation and capacity building, create a model of regional cooperation for "Silk Road E-commerce" and continuously inject new impetus for trade development.

The third is to continue to enrich the areas of cooperation. We will give full play to the role of the "two countries, two parks" cooperation platform of China-Malaysia and China-Indonesia, and actively create a new platform for international division of labor and cooperation. Increase investment in emerging fields such as the digital economy and green economy, and jointly cultivate new quality productivity. Promote the implementation and effectiveness of more "small but beautiful" projects in the field of people's livelihood, and benefit a wider group of people.

Fourth, actively maintain the smooth flow of production and supply chain. Accelerate the construction of a new international land-sea trade channel, enhance the resilience and vitality of the channel, and promote the mutual promotion and common development of the channel and industry. We will jointly maintain the smooth circulation of key products and services, coordinate the response to challenges such as supply chain disruptions, and build a more stable, smooth and comparative advantageous regional production and supply chain system.
