On August 7, Ningxia held the first press conference of the 7th China-Arab Expo.

Zhu Dong, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Ningxia Department of Commerce, introduced that in recent years, under the strong leadership of the Party Committee and Government of the Ningxia Autonomous Region, Ningxia has seized major opportunities in the construction of the "Belt and Road", continued to build a platform for foreign cooperation and exchange, built an opening channel to the outside world, and optimized the open development environment, and Ningxia's open economy has made positive progress.

The scale of foreign trade and economic development has steadily expanded. Ningxia and countries and regions jointly built the "Belt and Road" have been continuously deepened. From 2022 to 2024, Ningxia and countries and regions jointly built the "Belt and Road" have achieved a total of 29.4 billion yuan in imports and exports, and in the first half of this year, 5.12 billion yuan in imports and exports with countries and regions jointly built the "Belt and Road" were 5.12 billion yuan, an increase of 8.7% year-on-year.

The role of the China-Arab Expo platform is becoming increasingly prominent. In the first six China-Arab Expo, there were 112 countries and regions, 29 Chinese and foreign political leaders, 383 Chinese and foreign ministers, and more than 7,500 domestic and foreign companies participated in the exhibition. A total of 1,616 cooperation projects of various types were signed.

The construction of open channels is constantly accelerating. International (regional) routes such as Yinchuan-Hong Kong and Dubai have resumed flights, and international routes such as Yinchuan-Bangkok, Vientiane, Nha Trang, and Phuket have been opened. There are more than 70 cities and nearly 100 routes available for Yinchuan Hedong International Airport. Ningxia has successively launched international freight trains from five Central Asian countries such as Yinchuan (Zhongwei)-Kazakhstan, Yinchuan-Budapest international freight trains, Yinchuan-Mohan-Laos Vientiane, Huinong-Pingxiang-Vietnam Ho Chi Minh and other point-to-point international railway freight trains, and stably operated Yinchuan (Huinong)-Tianjin Port, Yinchuan-Qingdao Port, and Pingluo-Jingtang MTR sea-sea transport map-designed trains.

The open development environment is constantly optimized. A number of large open platforms such as Ningxia Inland Open Economic Pilot Zone, Ningxia National Grape and Wine Industry Open Development Comprehensive Pilot Zone, China (Yinchuan) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, and the national-level Economic and Technological Development Zone have accelerated the construction, launched the "single window" of international trade, and established a working mechanism for linkage services for trade and investment facilitation.
