The 2025 "Belt and Road" Media Cooperation Forum was held in Kunming City, Yunnan Province on September 16. More than 200 foreign representatives from 87 countries and international and regional organizations, 165 media and institutions attended the meeting.

The guests at the meeting believed that since President Xi Jinping proposed the major initiative of jointly building the "Belt and Road" in 2013, the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" has achieved fruitful results and has become a popular international public product and international cooperation platform. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping proposed a global governance initiative at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting, contributing Chinese wisdom to the construction of a more fair and reasonable global governance system, providing Chinese solutions, and opening up new and greater development space for high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road".

The guests at the meeting said that media from all countries should further deepen cooperation, be good practitioners and promoters of the Silk Road spirit, and actively spread the civilization concept of equality, mutual learning, dialogue and inclusiveness; be good recorders and narrators of development achievements, continue to report in-depth on the vivid practice of jointly building the "Belt and Road" and widely gather positive energy for win-win cooperation; be good participants and promoters of mutual learning in civilizations, and use high-quality news works to enhance understanding, break barriers, and gather the strength of the masses, so as to make the foundation for building a community with a shared future for mankind stronger.

The forum is co-organized by People's Daily, the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Yunnan Provincial People's Government. With the theme of "Share Media Responsibilities to Promote Mutual Learning of Civilizations", it has set up multiple sub-forums such as the opening ceremony, the main forum, the "Belt and Road" Media Cooperation Dialogue, the Second International Communication "Silk Road Award" Award Ceremony, and the ASEAN and China-Japan-Korea (10 3) media cooperation seminar. After the meeting, Chinese and foreign media guests participating in the forum will also conduct joint interview activities in Yunnan and other provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.

Since its establishment in 2014, the "Belt and Road" Media Cooperation Forum has been successfully held for 9 sessions. More than 1,000 representatives from foreign media and international and regional organizations from more than 100 countries and regions were invited to attend the meeting to unite our efforts to promote the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road".
