On September 23, the 2025 Eurasian Economic Forum with the theme of "Aggregating new momentum in Eurasia to build a new pattern of sustainable development" was opened in Xi'an.

The previous forums have attracted tens of thousands of representatives from the political, business and academic circles from more than 70 countries and regions around the world, signed more than 200 cooperation agreements and memorandums, and promoted the implementation of major projects in the fields of energy, finance, transportation, humanities, etc., involving a capital scale of more than 100 billion yuan.

Xi'an and the Eurasian Economic Forum work together and work together to achieve far-reaching momentum. Looking back at history, Zhang Qian traveled westward, opening the door to friendly exchanges between China and Central Asia. Looking at today, the China-Europe freight trains are galloping, and the iron flow has created a new channel. The pace of open exchanges and cooperation in Shaanxi has never stopped.

Build a strong hub to connect Eurasia

On September 15, the train that had been replaced was out of the country. After spanning more than 6,600 kilometers, it will reach the end of this trip - Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

This is the first China-European China-Europe freight train to consumer lithium batteries in Shaanxi.

"Consumer lithium batteries have high energy density and belong to the category that needs strict control in international railway transportation." Zhao Yan, manager of the Xi'an International Port Business Department of Xi'an Railway Bureau, said that now, the transportation category of China-Europe Express (Xi'an) has been "new" again, and such cargoes have a stable and efficient railway transportation channel to go overseas.

As a landmark achievement of the Eurasian Economic Forum, the China-Europe Express (Xi'an) has opened a "golden channel" for international trade across Europe and Asia.

18 international transportation trunk lines cover the Eurasian continent, reaching more than 220 cities in Europe and more than 100 cities in Asia; 26 " Western Europe" assembly lines connect the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, radiating to the main sources of goods in China...

"The market is hot, and new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaic products, and the new three are also very popular," said Liu Shunli, duty director of the Xi'an International Port Sales Department of Xi'an Railway Bureau.

Efficient and convenient services have allowed more than 17,000 companies to choose to take the China-Europe Express (Xi'an) overseas, attracting more than 3,800 international logistics and trading companies to land in Xi'an.

The huge overseas market has driven the China-Europe Express (Xi'an) to become increasingly dense. Nowadays, an average of one train enters and leaves the port every 80 minutes. The total number of China-Europe Express (Xi'an) has exceeded 30,000, accounting for more than one-quarter of the country's total. Core indicators such as operation volume, freight volume, and heavy container rate have been ranked first in the country for seven consecutive years. Capital, goods and information are accelerated in the Eurasian continent.

The "Iron Camel Fleet" is moving forward steadily, and the "Air Silk Road" is also renewed and upgraded.

The series of cooperation projects of China Eastern Airlines Xi'an Base have been signed and implemented in the Airport New City of Xixian New District. After completion, Xi'an's aviation maintenance, ground guarantee and supporting service capabilities will be greatly improved;

Georgia Airlines Xi'an Base and Carmecos Air Xi'an Base were unveiled, carrying 6 international all-cargo routes, further strengthening the Xi'an International Aviation Hub's ability to reach Central and Western Asia and Central and Eastern Europe;

Since August, Xi'an has continued to make efforts to further expand the global route network, improve global resource allocation capabilities, and accelerate the improvement of the route network pattern of "Silk Road, direct access to Europe and the United States, and connecting to the five continents".

With the "Iron Camel Fleet" and "Air Silk Road" as the link, Xi'an actively integrates into the overall pattern of jointly building the "Belt and Road", the "International Friends Circle" is constantly expanding, and a new high ground for inland reform and opening up is accelerating.

Cross the mountains and seas and humanities

On September 18, Gao Feng, director of the China-Kazakhstan Traditional Medicine Center and a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, called the transnational phone number in the department of Xi'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

In December 2022, the China-Kazakhstan Traditional Medicine Center was officially listed in Astana.

In May 2023, the center officially opened for consultation.

In May 2025, the center was built with a new site and expanded and upgraded.

Up to now, the center has received more than 50,000 visitors.

"In addition to building sites and delivering technology, we also cultivate traditional Chinese medicine talents for the local area. At present, we have organized and opened more than 10 international training courses and trained more than 200 'foreign traditional Chinese medicine doctors'." Wei Yuanbin, deputy director of Xi'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Brain Disease Hospital, introduced.

Now, with the empowerment of the Eurasian Economic Forum, China and Kazakhstan are moving from "single-point docking" to "system co-construction", and the "circle of friends" of traditional Chinese medicine cooperation continues to expand.

Over the years, seeds sown by the Eurasian Economic Forum are constantly taking root and sprouting and bearing fruit.

This fruitful result is born in the breakthrough of technological collaboration. Starting from 2022, Shaanxi will take the lead in building three national and 15 provincial "Belt and Road" joint laboratories, and carry out technical cooperation with countries and regions such as Russia and Central Asia; the Yangling Demonstration Zone will focus on breeding of good varieties and saline-alkali land, and will jointly build 12 overseas science and technology demonstration parks with many Central Asian countries, radiating over 30 million mu of land in total.

This fruit is born in the warmth of humanities and culture. The Silk Road Archaeological Cooperation Research Center was unveiled, Northwestern Polytechnical University opened a branch in Kazakhstan, and Shaanxi's international friendly cities in Central Asia increased to 14... The "hands-in-hand" cooperation has made the friendship between Shaanxi and Central Asia deepen.

This fruitful result has been in the craze of economic and trade exchanges. Today, in stores in Central Asian countries, "Made in China" such as home appliances, new energy vehicles, daily necessities, etc. are very popular; on the shelves of Xi'an Xi'an Xi'an International Port, Central Asian honey, camel milk powder, chocolate and other products have become internet celebrity snacks.

At present, Shaanxi has established comprehensive, multi-level and wide-field cooperative relations with more than 40 countries and regions and more than 400 institutions, and has established 24 national and 124 provincial international science and technology exchange and cooperation bases, building a "fast lane" for transnational technological research, talent co-education, and industrial cooperation.

Draw a blueprint together to build a dream

Since its establishment in 2005, the Eurasian Economic Forum has been held every two years and has been successfully held for ten sessions. This is not only the growth of annual rings, but also the deepening of concepts, the expansion of cooperation, and the enhancement of influence.

In 2005, the first forum was held in Xi'an, building a platform for local regional economic cooperation between central and western China, Central Asia and Russia;

In 2007, the Xi'an Consensus signed by the participating countries was recognized as a milestone in pragmatic cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Forum;

In 2015, the forum ushered in an important leap - it was officially included in the top ten platforms for the country to promote the joint construction of the "Belt and Road";

The Eurasian Economic Forum has effectively expanded exchanges and cooperation between China and Eurasian countries in multiple fields, becoming an important platform for countries to promote the construction of the "Belt and Road", an important window for Shaanxi's opening up to the outside world and an effective carrier for the construction of Xi'an's national central city.

In the first eight months of this year, Xi'an imported and exported 168.49 billion yuan to countries jointly built the "Belt and Road" country, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year; Xi'an permanent "China-Central Asia Mechanism Secretariat" was established, and the visa center established can handle visas of 28 countries; Xi'an Xianyang International Airport Phase III expansion project has been put into operation one after another, connecting 34 waypoints of 19 countries jointly built the "Belt and Road" country, achieving full coverage of five Central Asian countries and eight cities; the 240-hour transit visa-free policy is implemented in Xi'an...
