An exhibition changes a city. The CIFIT has profoundly changed Xiamen in all aspects. It can be said that without the CIFIT, Xiamen might not be as international as it is today.

It has been 29 years since the first CIFIT in 1997, but this year is the 25th. This is because the "Xiamen Fair" started in 2015, and 2017, 2019 and 2020 are all "small years".

The established CIFIT is also facing pressure to improve its business.

On the one hand, there are more and more new exhibitions and similar exhibitions such as the China International Import Expo, the Chain Expo, the Service Trade Fair, the Consumer Expo, and the West China International Trade Fair, and the competition in organizing the exhibitions itself has intensified; on the other hand, how to create new results for old exhibitions is also a big problem.

With the country’s full support and great attention, as well as the expectations of all parties, Xiamen proposed the concept of “reshaping the CIFIT and starting again in 1998” last year. Among them, the establishment of the Ministry of Commerce’s “Invest in China” zone at the CIFIT is an extremely important benefit. With this special area, the CIFIT's "only major national exhibition with investment as the theme" feature is further highlighted, and the mission of implementing differentiated strategies and creating "Invest in China" becomes clearer.

This year's CIFIT has added a "China Investment" section and strengthened financial docking, reflecting efforts made in response to trends.

This CIFIT will introduce more leading international financial capital companies and plan a number of financial capital investment promotion activities. Among them, China Investment Corporation held the annual meeting of the International Advisory Committee and a cross-border project docking exchange meeting at the CIFIT for the first time; the China Securities Regulatory Commission organized 18 financial institutions and 21 listed companies to participate in the exhibition; and the Financial Capital Zone gathered more than 70 large financial institutions and listed companies to improve the quality and scale of cross-border investment.

It can be said that a booth at the CIFIT is “hard to find”. Taking the above-mentioned financial capital area as an example, some companies have good intentions in order to strive for a better and bigger position. Of course, in the end, you can only act according to the rules.

At this year’s CIFIT, what is talked about is that both the guest country and the guest province are very strong.

Colleagues who visited the museum in advance also found out a piece of news - perhaps out of the need for powerful alliances, this year Jiangsu, the guest of honor, and the United Kingdom, the guest of honor country, both made high-profile appearances and will be promoted on the same stage. The United Kingdom, in particular, sent a delegation of more than 260 people this time, the largest in history.

Not only that, this year’s CIFIT has a high level of international participation. Delegations from more than 120 countries and regions and 11 international organizations have signed up to participate in the conference, and 51 countries and regions have set up exhibitions. The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development will join hands with Xiamen to jointly host the Future Investment Conference for the first time... It is obvious that this CIFIT will bring unlimited possibilities for win-win cooperation and inject vitality into global economic development.

This year's "1998" actually shoulders the mission of finding a breakthrough for global investment, a win for investment in China, and a new situation for its own development.
