This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Focusing on the theme of “Remembering History, Honoring Martyrs, Cherishing Peace, and Creating a Future,” Beijing comprehensively uses nine types of layouts, including hard landscapes, propaganda images, flowerbeds and flowers, night lighting, and fountains and waterscapes, to promote the great anti-war spirit and patriotism of the Chinese people.

There are 10 groups of three-dimensional flower beds set up in the section from Jianguo Gate to Fuxing Gate on Chang'an Street. They have been decorated recently and are on display. They vividly show that over the past 80 years, the great Chinese people have worked tirelessly, tenaciously and tenaciously to build a strong country and achieve national rejuvenation. In addition, more than 3,200 square meters of ground flowers have been arranged along the line to create five rose flower box landscape bridge areas at Jianguomen, Dongzhimen, Muxidi, Guomao and Xinxing.

The theme of the flower bed begins with "Cherishing Peace" at Jianguo Gate, "Remembering History and Commemorating the War of Resistance" through Dongdan, "Prosperity of the Motherland and Happiness of the People" at Xidan, and finally looking forward to "Better Tomorrow" at Fuxing Gate. The narrative is coherent and has far-reaching implications.

The northwest corner of Jianguo Gate - "Cherish Peace" flower bed features an earth, an olive branch, and a dove of peace embedded with the commemorative event's logo as the main scene, implying cherishing peace, promoting world peace and development, and promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The northeast corner of Dongdan - the "Mainstream" flower bed uses Yan'an Pagoda Mountain, Nanniwan, Zaoyuan, Pingxingguan and other scenes as scenes, showing the Yan'an spirit of hard work and self-reliance of the Chinese nation, implying that the Communist Party of China is the mainstay of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japan.

The southeast corner of Dongdan - "Ode to the Yellow River" flower bed embodies the momentum of the water of the Yellow River coming from the sky through the majestic Hukou Waterfall. In order to fully display the landscape effect, the flower bed organically integrates various techniques, using freehand Chinese painting as the base, real flowing water as the sound effect, and foggy rendering as the background. Various techniques are integrated to depict the Hukou Falls, and are combined with the music of the "Yellow River Cantata" to express the majestic momentum of the Yellow River, enhance the sensory experience, and resonate with tourists.

The northwest corner of Dongdan - "Passing on the Fire" flower bed features a torch as the main scene, inlaid with the words "Remember history, honor the martyrs, cherish peace, and create the future" and the year number "1945-2025", accompanied by red ribbons, sunflowers, etc., which means that the great spirit of the Anti-Japanese War is passed down from generation to generation and will last forever.

The southwest corner of Dongdan - the "United Will United" flowerbed features the majestic Great Wall as the main scene, accompanied by scenes of the entire nation's war of resistance. It embodies the Chinese nation's spirit of unity, perseverance, and self-improvement. It embodies the people's awakening to the 14 years of arduous experience in the nation's rise to resist the war, and achieved the great victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

The northeast corner of Xidan - the "Prosperity and Development" flower bed is centered on the people (scientific and technological workers, workers, farmers, police, doctors, teachers, students), showing a flourishing and vibrant scene of prosperity and development, implying joint construction, joint governance and sharing, and promoting high-quality development guided by new development concepts.

The southeast corner of Xidan - the "Technological Power" flower bed uses the Xuelong 2 icebreaker, Shenzhou 20, smart docks, robots, etc. as scenes to display my country's innovative achievements in the field of science and technology, implying the promotion of high-level technological self-reliance and self-reliance, and marching toward the grand goal of building a technological power.

The northwest corner of Xidan - the "Rural Revitalization" flower bed takes the happy life of a new, garden-style rural area with a festive harvest as the scene, writing a new chapter in the revitalization of socialist rural areas with Chinese characteristics that is ecologically livable, harmonious and stable, and where the people live and work in peace and contentment.

Southwest corner of Xidan - "Green Life" flower bed, with the blue and green intertwined ecological home as the background, implements the construction concept of "greening, coloring, and three-dimensionality", and is equipped with leisure, camping, fitness and other scenes, implying the path of sustainable green development and building a new modern picture of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

The northeast corner of Fuxing Gate - the "Better Tomorrow" flower bed features colorful bouquets as the main scene, accompanied by the words "Strive for a new journey and build a new era", which means to carry forward the great anti-Japanese spirit, march forward bravely towards the glorious shore of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and write a new chapter of Chinese modernization.

It is worth mentioning that this year, more than 100 new and excellent varieties and native plants were used in flower beds, of which 40 new varieties made their debut. At the same time, in order to match the theme, the flower bed innovatively used millet, sorghum, sugar cane and other crop materials for the first time, vividly restoring the production scene at that time.

According to the Beijing Municipal Landscaping and Greening Bureau, after the commemorative event, all flower beds will no longer undergo large-scale changes. Only elements of some flower beds will be adjusted and some plants replaced. The flower bed landscape will continue until the National Day.
