Wang Jun, deputy director of the General Administration of Customs, said that in the first three quarters of this year, my country's imports and exports to countries co-building the "Belt and Road" were 17.37 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.2%, which was 2.2 percentage points higher than my country's overall import and export growth rate in the same period.

In terms of imports, 64.6% of my country’s bulk commodity imports came from co-building countries, an increase of 1.1 percentage points from the same period last year. Since the beginning of this year, the General Administration of Customs has signed more than 100 cooperation documents with counterpart departments of the co-building countries, including more than 70 agricultural and food product access documents. Among the value of my country’s agricultural product imports, those from co-building countries accounted for 69.1%, a proportion that increased by 3.1 percentage points compared with the same period last year. In terms of exports, exports of electronic information products to co-building countries increased by 16.6%, high-end equipment increased by 37%, wind turbines increased by 58%, and exports of textiles, clothing, food, furniture, automobiles and other "food, clothing, housing and transportation" commodities all achieved growth.

The high-quality Belt and Road Initiative is an important public good provided by China to the international community and has become the most extensive and largest international cooperation platform in the world today. High-level unimpeded trade continues to open up new space for joint development and cooperation between countries. "In order to comprehensively demonstrate the achievements in foreign trade development between my country and the co-building countries, we compile the trade index between China and the co-building countries on an annual basis. We set the base number in 2013 as 100. The latest results show that the index has risen to 198 in 2024, which fully reflects the strong momentum and growth potential of economic and trade cooperation between my country and the co-building countries." Wang Jun introduced. In 2024, the proportion of countries co-building the "Belt and Road" in my country's imports and exports will exceed 50% for the first time, and further increased to 51.7% in the first three quarters of this year.
