According to statistics from Nanjing Customs, in the first eight months of this year, Jiangsu’s total foreign trade import and export value reached 3.82 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%.

Nanjing Customs data shows that from January to August, Jiangsu's foreign trade import and export increased by 5.1% year-on-year, reaching a record high for the same period in history.

According to statistics from Nanjing Customs, in the first eight months of this year, Jiangsu's total foreign trade import and export value reached 3.82 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%. The growth rate was 1.6 percentage points higher than the national level, accounting for 12.9% of the country's total import and export value during the same period. Among them, exports were 2.55 trillion yuan, an increase of 9%. Foreign trade shows a significant trend of diversification, high technology and green and low carbonization.

Data show that in the first eight months, Jiangsu's imports and exports to countries co-building the "Belt and Road" were 1.91 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.3%, driving the province's import and export growth rate by 4.9 percentage points, and accounting for the province's total import and export value, an increase of 2.4 percentage points from the same period last year to 49.9%. Among them, imports and exports to ASEAN were 694.07 billion yuan, an increase of 22.4%. During the same period, imports and exports to the EU were 543.6 billion yuan, an increase of 3.5%. The diversified layout of trading partners has effectively enhanced Jiangsu's foreign trade ability to resist risks and also provided important support for the stability of the global industrial chain.

In terms of export product structure, in the first eight months, Jiangsu's exports of mechanical and electrical products were 1.77 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.6%, driving the province's export growth by 7.2 percentage points, accounting for 69.3% of the province's total export value. Among them, the export of ships was 89.1 billion yuan, an increase of 28.6%; the export of the "three new" products represented by electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaic products was 121.45 billion yuan, an increase of 10.6%, becoming an important engine for promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade. Data shows that Jiangsu’s foreign trade is accelerating towards high-tech, green and low-carbon development, which is highly consistent with the international market’s demand for high-end manufacturing and sustainable development.
