The headquarters project of the "Belt and Road" Import and Export Commodity Distribution Center (Sichuan) is a major service industry project in Sichuan Province, with a total investment of about 1.8 billion yuan, covering an area of 68 mu, and a total construction area of 210,000 square meters. The project was led by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, jointly planned by multiple provincial departments, and was implemented by Sichuan Tianfu New District and Sichuan Port and Shipping Investment Group Co., Ltd., and is expected to be completed and put into operation in February 2028. The project will take the dual core development of "Global Trade Headquarters" and "International Consumption Center" as the overall goal, focus on international trade, smart logistics, and cross-border e-commerce, and create a "new hub" for efficient aggregation of digital trade, service trade, and goods trade.

Dong Xiaomin, the technical director of the project, introduced that the "Belt and Road" Import and Export Commodity Distribution Center (Sichuan) headquarters project relies on normalized country-based theme exhibitions and high-quality exhibitions to build four major industrial ecological platforms: New Silk Road Expo Center, International Industrial Innovation Roadshow Center, Silk Road Economic and Trade Center, and Industrial Service Center, forming a three-dimensional coordinated commercial circulation system and a characteristic supply chain system of "trade, exhibition, and service"; the project focuses on the world's "first store, first show, first exhibition, first show" and builds an international consumption destination and a place for better life experience with "business culture experience curator".

In recent years, Sichuan has increasingly close trade exchanges with countries jointly constructing the "Belt and Road" and the scale of mutual demand has been continuously increasing. In 2024, the trade volume of Sichuan and the countries jointly built by the "Belt and Road" reached 461.68 billion yuan, an increase of 11.5% year-on-year. In the past nine years, the average growth rate of trade volume between Sichuan and the countries jointly built by the "Belt and Road" has reached 19%.

Liu Qiang, director of the Foreign Trade Operations Department of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, introduced that the tablets, laptops, digital TVs, new energy vehicles and other products produced in Sichuan are very popular in the countries jointly built by the "Belt and Road". Fresh durian, chrome ore sand, fish powder, lignite, palm oil and other products from the countries jointly built by the "Belt and Road" are sold well in the Sichuan market, reflecting the huge trade potential contained therein.

A relevant person in charge of Sichuan Port and Shipping Investment Group Co., Ltd. said that the project will combine the comprehensive transportation service system of "rail, road, water and air", supply chain service system of "based on Sichuan and Chongqing, radiating across the country, connecting Europe and Asia", and an international economic and trade cooperation system of "using transportation to promote trade and using trade to promote production" to build a large pattern of internal and external linkage and opening up.
