In order to deeply interpret the national strategy and guide young college students to grasp the pulse of the times, on June 10, the School’s Work Committee for Care for the Next Generation invited Yang Bowen, a member of the moral education guidance group of the Committee for the Elderly, to give a special lecture entitled "The Belt and Road Initiative: The Path to a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind" to some undergraduate, master and doctoral students at Linxi Academy.

Yang Bowen starts from the theory of complex systems science and compares the development paths of China and the West over the past 1,500 years, and deeply explains the historical logic and practical significance of the "Belt and Road" initiative. Through cases such as CNPC's overseas projects, the implementation path of policy communication, facility connectivity, smooth trade, financial and people-to-people communication was vividly explained, and a message to young college students to base themselves on their professional strengths and be practitioners of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind.

He pointed out that modern Western prosperity is based on the predatory development of global resources, and the wisdom of Chinese civilization's "great harmony in the world" is an important weight to solve the chaos dilemma of the world today.

The lecture combined the research results of monographs such as "The Belt and Road Initiative: The Global Strategy for Take-off China", systematically discussed the theoretical connotation of the initiative as a global view transcends the nation-state, and emphasized that this is an important practice of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

During the interactive session, the students asked questions about how young college students participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road" and mutual learning of civilizations in the digital era.

After the lecture, the students participating in the lecture said that they had gained a lot. Li, a student from the School of Economics and Management, said: "This lecture subverted my understanding of globalization. It turns out that the Belt and Road Initiative carries such profound civilization and wisdom."
