Xinhua News Agency, Macau, June 11 (Reporters Qi Fei and Guo Yuqi) The 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Summit Forum and Exhibition with the theme of "Better Connectivity, More Cooperation and Win-win" was held in Macau on the 11th, focusing on hot topics and cutting-edge topics that connect global infrastructure such as regional infrastructure integration, energy transformation, and intelligent construction.
Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region Cen Haohui, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Liu Xianfa, Special Envoy of the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Australia, attended the event.
This International Infrastructure Forum gathered more than 3,500 participants from more than 70 countries and regions, including more than 250 special topics and supporting activities such as special forums and innovative achievements launch ceremony. The exhibition held at the same time covers an area of 8,000 square meters and gathers about 85 Chinese and foreign exhibitors, aiming to promote China's global infrastructure cooperation to a new level and play an important role in linking facilities to help jointly build the "Belt and Road".
In his opening speech, Dai Jianye, Secretary for Economic and Financial Affairs of the SAR Government, said that the International Infrastructure Forum has promoted the progress of Macau's exhibition industry to internationalization, specialization and marketization, allowing Macau to show greater achievements in the process of jointly building the "Belt and Road". In the future, Macau will continue to give full play to the advantages of the "one country, two systems" system, further build a high-level platform for opening up to the outside world, promote internal and external connectivity, and participate in and assist Chinese-style modernization with practical actions.
Nicaragua's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Oscar Mohika said that connectivity has become a basic principle of development and a bridge to global cooperation and shared prosperity. China has proposed the "Belt and Road" initiative, global development initiative, etc., to effectively promote mutually beneficial cooperation among countries.
The opening ceremony released the "Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index Report on the "Belt and Road" Co-construction Countries (2025)" and the "Portuguese-speaking Countries Infrastructure Development Index and the Results Report on the Macao Special Administrative Region's Participation in the Co-construction of the "Belt and Road" (2025)".
"The International Infrastructure Forum has built an ecological platform for cross-border cooperation with complementary advantages and win-win cooperation." Li Wei, managing director of the Asia Energy and Infrastructure Industry of Standard Bank Group, said that Africa has a large investment gap in the field of infrastructure. Standard Bank is committed to promoting the interconnection of cross-border infrastructure in Africa and promoting regional integrated development.
The International Infrastructure Forum was held from the 10th to the 12th, co-organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Foreign Contracting Engineering and the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. It is an annual industry event in the field of global infrastructure cooperation and an important international platform for infrastructure connectivity and cooperation in the "Belt and Road" industry.
