On June 12, the closing ceremony of the Second Belt and Road Science and Technology Exchange Conference was held. This conference is themed "Building the Road to Innovation, Promoting Cooperation and Development - Working together to build a 'Belt and Road' Science and Technology Innovation Community". It focuses on intergovernmental scientific and technological cooperation, scientific and technological cultural exchanges, industrial innovation and development, and held 38 special activities. More than 6,000 guests from more than 100 countries and international organizations shared successful experiences and shared development opportunities, and achieved fruitful results.

The conference further enhanced the consensus on open cooperation. The guests exchanged frankly, shared wisdom, and built consensus. They realized that the "Belt and Road" initiative has been proposed for more than ten years. Over the past decade, the country has vigorously implemented the action plan for science and technology innovation, deepened cooperation and exchanges in the fields of science and education, industry, and talents, and promoted scientific and technological achievements to benefit the people of all countries, fully demonstrating the concept of mankind as an interdependence community with a shared future.

The conference issued the Chengdu Declaration on jointly building a scientific and technological innovation community of "Belt and Road"", which issued a strong voice for the times to deepen open cooperation in science and technology, and received warm responses from all countries participating in the conference, contributing positive strength to the gathering of the trend of peace, development and win-win times.

The conference further deepened scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, promoted the mechanism operation of the "Belt and Road" Science and Technology Exchange Conference and the Ministers' Meeting of Science and Technology, the "Double Thousand" Plan for Science and Technology Cooperation in Chengdu-Chongqing and the "Double Thousand" Plan for Science and Technology Cooperation in the "Belt and Road" and the International Meridian Circle Science and Technology Plan were fully launched, special actions for artificial intelligence and traditional Chinese medicine science and technology innovation, held a series of special forums and roundtables, promoted the establishment of "Belt and Road" science and technology innovation cooperation alliances such as spatial information and low-carbon technology, held more than 30 bilateral ministerial meetings, and signed 28 bilateral intergovernmental science and technology cooperation documents. The circle of friends for international scientific and technological cooperation is larger and wider.

The conference further promoted the docking of industrial technology, launched the construction of the "Belt and Road" international technology transfer center in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, held two-way announcements of "enterprises looking for technology, results looking for markets", organized Chinese and foreign guests to inspect the application scenarios of science and technology innovation and the practice of science and technology finance innovation in Sichuan, and released or launched 103 important achievements and new plans to inject more technological innovation impetus into the construction of the innovative Silk Road.

The third "Belt and Road" Science and Technology Exchange Conference will be held in Chongqing in 2027.
