I once thought that the "Belt and Road" was just a major country diplomatic word on TV. It was not until I saw cars of durian whizzing by at the Xinjiang port that I realized that it had already moistened things and changed our lives silently.

A few years ago, when I saw the "Belt and Road" in the news, I always felt that it was a major event that national leaders talked about on international occasions, and it was far from the lives of ordinary people. It was not until I went to Xinjiang for a trip last month that I saw a complete vehicle of Thai durian and Malaysian Maosan King directly from the port to send them to various places, and I suddenly realized that this "road" really led to our doorstep.

Cross-border e-commerce has made shopping carts more abundant. My friend is doing e-commerce and recently imported honey directly from Central Asia and red wine from Eastern Europe. The logistics speed is more than twice as fast as in previous years. He said that customs clearance is particularly smooth now, and commodity access to countries along the "Belt and Road" is becoming more and more convenient. In our shopping carts, there are also increasing products from these countries.

There are new choices for traveling and working abroad. My cousin is an engineer. Last year, the company was sent to the Hungary-Serbia Railway Project. When I came back, I told us that China has more than 3,000 cooperative construction projects with countries that jointly build the "Belt and Road". At the same time, countries like Serbia are becoming more and more friendly to our ordinary tourists.

Energy cooperation also makes our lives greener. Last year, the village installed a photovoltaic power station, and the equipment was part of the green energy cooperation project between China and the countries that jointly built the "Belt and Road" country. In the first half of 2025, China's investment in green energy in jointly building the "Belt and Road" countries was close to 10 billion US dollars, and these cooperations are also indirectly affecting our daily lives.

Looking back, the "Belt and Road" is actually not as grand and distant as mentioned in the news. It is the imported fruit on our dining table, the overseas package in the express cabinet, the exotic scenery videos seen on our mobile phones, and even the job opportunities for some people.

When we enjoy more diverse goods and services, when our companies have a broader market, and when our culture communicates more diversely with the world, the "Belt and Road" has already happened around us.

It is not only a railway crossing the mainland and a port that rejuvenates itself, but also a bond that connects the world and China and lives with every ordinary person.
