The terminal achieves the highest level of full-process automation and intelligent container operations at the world's ports.

With the convening of the SCO Tianjin Summit, Tianjin, the core area of northern international shipping, has once again become the focus of the world. As the important intersection of my country's first batch of coastal open cities and jointly building the "Belt and Road", Tianjin is the only city in the north that has the "three zones superposition" of free trade zones, national-level new zones, and comprehensive bonded zones. As an important international hub port, Tianjin Port has maritime routes reaching 10 SCO countries, and has built a blue bridge for economic and trade exchanges between SCO members with its hard power as the top ten ports in the world.

In the first seven months of this year, China's trade in goods with other SCO members reached US$293.18 billion, which is equivalent to over US$1.3 billion in goods circulating between markets of various countries every day. Tianjin performed well in the same period, with imports and exports with SCO countries reaching 53.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, and the enthusiasm for cooperation continued to rise. At present, Tianjin Port has opened China-Europe (Asian) freight trains through Erlianhot, Inner Mongolia, Alashankou, Xinjiang and Horgos, and the China-Europe (Asian) freight train transportation scale has always ranked among the top coastal ports.

As an international hub port, Tianjin Port maintains shipping trade with more than 500 ports in more than 180 countries and regions, and has more than 40 sea-rail intermodal transport channels and 148 container routes. As of the end of 2024, the container throughput of Tianjin Port ranked eighth among the world's ports; the intermodal transport volume exceeded 1.35 million TEUs, an increase of 12.2% year-on-year, maintaining the top three in the country, and the cross-border land bridge transportation volume ranked among the top coastal ports. In 2024, the best production level of Tianjin Port’s port production in history was: the cargo throughput reached 493 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3%; the container throughput reached 23.28 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 5%, an annual increase of more than 1 million TEUs.

Tianjin Port’s “Smart Zero Carbon” terminal is designed with the concept of “Smart Zero Carbon” and has 3 berths of 200,000 tons. The terminal achieves the highest level of full-process automation and intelligent container operations at the world's ports. The "wind, light, storage and load integration" green energy system uses 100% electricity, 100% of the electricity is green electricity, and 100% of the green electricity is self-produced and self-sufficient. The entire operation of the terminal achieves zero carbon emissions. Relying on 5G's full network interconnection and combining "big data" "edge computing", we will innovatively create an IoT platform that integrates cloud and network. More than 100,000 sensor installations and point facilities have been completed, and a full IoT container terminal has been built to achieve a leap from "Internet of Everything" to "intelligent connection of everything".
