Chang'an Street is decorated with flowers again, and 10 sets of three-dimensional flower beds have been completed and have become a popular check-in place. On August 26, the Municipal Landscape and Greening Bureau introduced the flower arrangement plan along Chang'an Street for commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Observe history and reflect the present

There are 10 sets of three-dimensional flower beds arranged along Chang'an Street this time, ranging from Jianguomen to Fuxingmen to Dongdan and Xidan Road intersections in the east. The four flower beds at Dongdan Road intersection focus on the theme of remembering history and commemorating the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan; the four flower beds at Xidan Road intersection show the scenes of prosperity of the motherland and happiness of the people. Among them, the "mainstay" flower bed in the northeast corner of Dongdan has the highest ceiling, reaching 10.9 meters.

The magnificent history turns into images in the theme flower bed, reminding the world not to forget the way it comes. The "united city" flower bed in the southwest corner of Dongdan restores the majestic Great Wall among the steep mountains; the "mainstay" flower bed in the northeast corner of Dongdan creates the towering Yan'an Pagoda Peace Pass.

While observing history, the themed flower beds also reflect the development of the times. The "Rural Revitalization" flower bed in the northwest corner of Xidan is showing a prosperous harvest and the live broadcast room for helping farmers is ongoing; the "Technology Power" flower bed in the southeast corner of Xidan is showing off its important weapons such as Xuelong 2 and Shenzhou 20. The "Green Life" flower bed in the southwest corner of Xidan interprets the little things of the people's happy life, and unfolds the poetic picture between the green waters and green mountains.

Sugarcane, sorghum and jujube trees appear in the flower bed

According to a relevant person in charge of the Municipal Landscape and Greening Bureau, there are more than 100 new and excellent varieties and local plants used in the themed flower bed, of which 40 are debuting. 12 new varieties such as the "reputation" of marigold, the "colorful" of edamame, and the "thousand-eyed Guanyin" cultivated by the Municipal Institute of Landscape and Greening, the Municipal Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, and the Lotus Park have been demonstrated and applied in the flower bed. New varieties of colorful and naturally tall shrubs such as Jinji small wax, golden willow, African Lingxiao, multi-flowered wisteria, star flower mulan have appeared in the flower beds, creating natural mountain landscapes such as Baota Mountain.

A variety of crops also appear in the flower beds. Millets, sugarcane and jujube trees were first used in Chang'an Street. The "mainstay" flower bed uses millet to restore the production scene during the Nanniwan land reclamation period. The "Yellow River Hymn" flower bed planted large areas of sorghum, echoing the picture of "Hedong and Hebei sorghum are ripe" depicted in the lyrics of "Defending the Yellow River". The "rural revitalization" flower beds not only contain large pieces of sugar cane, but also new varieties of ornamental vegetables such as chili peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.

"Water Cube" new materials save water and eliminate diseases

Advanced landscaping and planting technologies are widely used in this flower bed layout, making the shape more detailed and realistic and lighter. A "big pine tree" in the "United Kingdom" flower bed is planted with five-color grass, showing the effect of a large pine needle, the trunk is made of environmentally friendly bark blocks and nails; the silhouette characters use cave tray seedling planting technology; "The Lion on the Lugou Bridge" uses 3D printing and flocking technology.

In the flower beds such as "Prosperity and Development" and "Technology Power", the ice of the characters, robots and the Xuelong 2 icebreaker all use fiberglass technology and 3D modeling and printing technology.

This construction practices the concept of ecological conservation, and the hard floor flower bed uses a highly water-reserving porous material irrigation blanket - "Water Cube". This irrigation blanket is used for irrigation of ground landscape plants and has excellent water absorption and water retention properties. It can not only achieve root zone irrigation through bottom siphon, reduce the risk of disease caused by top irrigation, but also solve the problem of overflow on the flower bed.

After the commemorative event, all flower beds will no longer undergo large-scale changes. Only some flower beds will be adjusted and some plants will be replaced. The flower bed landscape will continue until National Day, fully reflecting the city's work in a firm manner to establish the awareness of strict practice of thrift and frugality.

The city has also arranged more than 3,200 square meters of flower planting along Chang'an Street to create five rose box landscape bridge areas, including Jianguomen, Dongzhimen, Muxidi, Guomao and Xinxingqiao. News scene

It is called "a flower bed that can sing". When the song sounds, passers-by will always stop and sing together, reviewing the difficult years of the War of Resistance against the songs.
