This summer vacation, in the conference room of Laman Polytechnic University in Malaysia, 3,500 kilometers away from Lanzhou University, teachers from the School of Public Health of Lanzhou University are communicating with relevant professional teachers of Raman Polytechnic University in international cooperation in running schools. Both are members of the "Belt and Road" university alliance. The two sides plan to carry out educational cooperation in professional disciplines such as nutrition through 2 2 international cooperation to jointly promote the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" education action. Coincidentally, Uzbekistan's Tashkent National Oriental University also plans to carry out 2 2 joint training with Lanzhou University in journalism-related disciplines to cultivate more professional cross-cultural communication talents for countries along the "Belt and Road".

Looking back ten years ago, Lanzhou University, in conjunction with 47 domestic and foreign universities in eight countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" including Fudan University and the Ural National University of Economics in Russia, initiated the establishment of the "Belt and Road" University Alliance in Dunhuang, Gansu, opening a new chapter in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" higher education community. Today, ten years later, the alliance's "partners" have grown to 197 domestic and foreign universities, covering 27 countries and regions on five continents. Lanzhou University interprets the mission of the "land Silk Road Academic Hub" with its own diverse and integrated academic ecology: from the Hexi Corridor to the coast of the Aral Sea, from the Dunhuang Grottoes to the Sahara edge, it has built an educational community that integrates knowledge, technology and humanities.

Willy from Kenya is one of them. He studied advanced agricultural technology with Professor Xiong Youcai at Lanzhou University, and often went deep into the fields of local farmers in Africa with his mentors to introduce the promotion of ridge ditch coating technology to them. "I want to bring Lanta's technology back to my hometown and bring change to Kenya," Willy said expectantly.

Malik from Pakistan studied with Professor Li Xiangkai of the School of Life Sciences at Lanzhou University and studied the development of probiotic resources in a Sino-Pakistan joint laboratory. After leaving the postdoctoral fellow in 2022, Malik brought what he learned back to Pakistan, and worked as a teacher at the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology in Pakistan and worked in the Ministry of Science and Technology of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. "I am very proud to be able to become a bridge and contribute to the friendship between China and Pakistan."

Miao Ruoyu is an international student from Lanzhou University from Uzbekistan. After graduating from undergraduate studies in 2019, he returned to China to apply for a job at Huawei's Uzbekistan headquarters and gradually grew into Huawei's Uzbekistan business environment manager. Yang Fan, also from Uzbekistan, returned to China to apply for a job at China National Heavy Duty Truck after graduating from undergraduate to apply for the job at China National Heavy Duty Truck. He is currently the sales manager of China National Heavy Duty Truck's Uzbekistan representative office. "Chinese-funded enterprises in our country are very willing to hire students from Lanzhou University. There are international students from Lanzhou University graduates in large enterprises such as Huawei, China National Heavy Duty Truck, and China Petroleum. In the past ten years, a total of international students from 101 countries have come to Lanzhou University to study, of which 93% have been studying in countries along the "Belt and Road". Scientific research foundation-building to solve development technical problems

In June 2025, students from the School of Literature held a cultural exhibition at the "Center of Chinese Studies" of the University of Nebrica, Spain.

"By systematically studying the interaction mechanism between yaks and grassland ecology, we hope to provide solutions to improve regional ecological security, nutritional health and people's livelihood and welfare." In April this year, Professor Long Ruijun of Lanzhou University was leading a scientific research team to explore in-depth how the diversity of grassland vegetation affects the food selection behavior and milk quality of yaks. This study not only provides theoretical support for the sustainable management of alpine grassland ecosystems, but also aims to promote the green transformation and rural revitalization of grass and animal husbandry in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan Mountains.

In July last year, Lanzhou University and Kazakhstan's National Agricultural Research University signed the "Co-construction Agreement between Lanzhou University of China and Hanjiang University, China-Kazakhstan Smart Agriculture Center". Mastering Chinese became a major advantage for Georgian youth in the employment market. Now, when you enter the classroom where Lanzhou University jointly built the Confucius Institute at the Art University of Georgia, you can often see students reading "Learn Chinese with ease" in their hands. This is the first set of local textbooks for primary and secondary school students in Georgia.
