COFCO Sugar Industry, which started with tomatoes, is planning to plant tomatoes in countries and regions along the "Belt and Road". Kazakhstan is adjacent to Xinjiang, one of the three largest tomato producing areas in the world, and has a good planting environment. Kazakhstan Eurasia Group has negotiated cooperation with COFCO Group and COFCO Sugar Industry on many occasions, and has formed a preliminary cooperation plan and is carrying out preliminary preparations. The project is expected to receive support from Kazakhstan, the World Bank, etc. in terms of land allocation and financial institutions.

At present, COFCO Sugar’s tomato products are exported to the west, 90% of the trade method is delivery by Alashankou/Dostek, and 10% are transported to designated railway stations for customers in Kazakhstan. Through the "Belt and Road", COFCO Sugar's sales of tomato products to Russia and other countries increased from 18,000 tons in 2015 to 26,000 tons in 2016. While improving the timeliness of goods supply, this also reduces the transportation cost of about 30 yuan per ton, thus leading the transformation and development of Xinjiang's export product logistics model.

COFCO Sugar Industry will take full advantage of the opportunity of the construction of the "Belt and Road" and the location advantages of Xinjiang, and give full play to the leading role of central enterprises in agriculture "going out".
