China News Service, Beijing, November 7. On November 7, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Foreign Minister, held talks with Georgian Foreign Minister Bochorishvili in Beijing.

Wang Yi said that China and Georgia are good friends and good partners. Georgia is China's first strategic partner in the Transcaucasus and the first country in Eurasia to establish a free trade arrangement with China. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Grenada 33 years ago, friendship and cooperation have always been the main theme of bilateral relations. The two sides respect, trust, and benefit each other, promoting the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, and achieving fruitful results in cooperation in various fields. China has always viewed and developed China-Grenada relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, and is willing to work with Grenada to consolidate strategic mutual trust, continue traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote greater development of China-Grenada relations.

Wang Yi said that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was successfully held and the recommendations for the “15th Five-Year Plan” were reviewed and approved. The scientific formulation and continuous implementation of five-year plans is an important experience of the Communist Party of China in governing the country and a unique advantage of socialism with Chinese characteristics. China will further comprehensively deepen reforms, expand high-level opening up to the outside world, accelerate the construction of a new development pattern, and comprehensively promote Chinese-style modernization with high-quality development. China will open up to the outside world on a larger scale, in wider fields, and at a deeper level, and promote the construction of an open world economy to better benefit people of all countries. China is willing to strengthen strategic alignment with Georgia, tap into cooperation potential, expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, connectivity, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, promote high-quality cooperation in building the Belt and Road Initiative, and share development opportunities to achieve common prosperity.

Wang Yi stressed that China and Grenada, both important members of the Global South, should strengthen international cooperation, jointly safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core, and jointly advocate an equal and orderly world multipolarization and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. The world should move forward, not go backwards and retreat to the law of the jungle. President Xi Jinping proposed global governance initiatives, which received appreciation and support from Georgia. China is willing to work with Georgia to implement this major initiative and better safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the global South and the common interests of the international community. Georgia is welcome to join the International Court of Mediation.

Bochorishvili said that he was very happy to visit China for the first time. Georgia attaches great importance to its relations with China and looks forward to upgrading the bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Georgia will continue to actively participate in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and deepen practical cooperation in the fields of economic and trade investment, interconnection, science and technology, direct flights, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and hopes to speed up the implementation of the upgraded version of the bilateral free trade agreement and promote more Georgian products to enter the Chinese market. Georgia firmly adheres to the one-China policy and will support China in all ways and on all occasions. Georgia also supports a series of initiatives such as the global governance initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, and is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with China on international and regional affairs to jointly safeguard world peace and stability.
